This outfit is the definition of the phrase ‘happy accident’; both the skirt and the bralette I’m wearing today were on my ‘OMG want’ list for a while – the skirt had, unfortunately, sold out in every H&M store within a 50 mile radius of my house (slight exaggeration), and yet, somehow, miraculously turned up in my size in the H&M online sale a few weeks ago, and the bralette was one of those items that I just wasn’t sure I could ‘pull off’ – however, after seeing it in the ASOS sale for the bargain price of £8 a couple of weeks ago, I snapped one up sharpish (luckily – it was sold out five minutes after I got my confirmation email!), and hence, this outfit was born.
I don’t think I’m quite brave enough (or warm-blooded enough, it’s getting chilly) to wear the bralette without something high-waisted and snug, but I really love this combination together – and it’s seriously flattering, given that I’m a pretty classic hourglass.Although I definitely wouldn’t think twice about throwing this outfit on with a pair of heels and wearing it to dance the night away, today I’m pairing it with my favourite biker jacket and some ankle boots for a bit of a casual feel – I do love some good old versatility.
