Why I Prefer Galentine’s Day | A Gift Guide for Your Girl Gang

I’m not a fan of Valentine’s Day – not because it’s commercialised, or because I hate PDA, or for any of those pretty valid reasons…I just don’t care. It doesn’t mean anything to me. You know what does, though? Galentine’s Day. Using the day before Valentine’s to celebrate your girl gang, and letting your best friends know how much they mean to you. That’s a day I can get behind. I’ll be sending some of my favourite ladies some care packages, this week – and here’s a little Galentine’s Day gift guide I’ve put together if you’d like to do the same.

Galentine’s Day Gift Ideas

Is your bestie a one of those girls who is always thinking of others, but never spoils herself? How about a Luxury Perfume Gift Set? Maybe your work wife is trying to be more mindful in 2018, in which case one of Kikki. K’s beautiful journals might look great on her desk. If your pal’s a blogging babe, these notelets would make great props for photos. And, hey, if your housemate is always stealing your mugs, there are some pretty great ones at Paperchase right now.

Galentine’s day is all about sharing the love, so any gifts you do pick out don’t have to be particularly pricey, or anything flash – it could be as simple as picking your friend up a coffee or a bottle of wine on the way to see her, or a cupcake on your lunch break.

Of Course, it’s Not All About Presents

There are, obviously, other ways you can show your girl gang some love on February 13th: send a text to your university friend who’s gone travelling to let her know you’re thinking of her half way around the world. Make your work wife a cup of coffee before she gets into the office. Post a couple of cute Instagram stories or Twitter threads about your girl gang. Whatever you do, do something to spread the love with your girl friends. They deserve it.
